Working with the ownership and Rosewood, NRi considered the needs of guests of the hotel and the local community, as well as a small and exclusive membership component. Rosewood’s management philosophy of “A Sense of Place” was thoughtfully incorporated within special areas inside the spa, creating a sanctuary.
Lynn Curry says “during the design process, we were trying to figure out how we could incorporate the beauty of the region, including the incredible mountain views, the coastal Northern California weather, and Rosewood’s service standard, in order to create special spa areas so that guests could enjoy the spa for more than just a treatment. What resulted was a beautiful central spa courtyard with a fountain and lounging furniture enhanced by heat lamps so that the courtyard can be utilized during sunny or foggy weather. Additionally, both the men’s and women’s locker rooms features separate outdoor gardens with whirlpools. So as to further incorporate the beautiful environment, we decided that the gorgeous duet suite could also have its own garden and outdoor whirlpool, creating a self-contained treatment suite for couples or small groups of friends. Hill Glazier and BAMO created these incredible spaces. You have to just go and visit, book a treatment and stay awhile…it’s beautiful!
